DESCRIPTION:
(from Twentieth Television's web site, July 2009) Each half hour episode of "Wedlock or Deadlock" features an engaged couple that has serious concerns about their relationship and wonder whether they have what it takes to get married. This show presents an opportunity for the couple to air their hopes and fears to Dr. Michelle Callahan, our resident psychologist and relationship expert. When the show begins the couple will hand over their marriage license to Dr. Michelle. At the end of the show she'll either return it to them with her blessing or tear it up. Before the show, the couples may be given a battery of tests: a compatibility test, a lie detector test or even a paternity test! During the show, Dr. Michelle will ask all the questions the couples should be asking themselves before making a lifetime commitment. And during the course of the show we'll hear both sides of the couple's story. Is she cheating with her ex? Is he a slob? How many children do they want? Who's going to clean the bathroom? There are as many relationship issues as there are relationships. The show will also feature in-studio statements from family members and friends that will give Dr. Michelle more information to help her determine whether the couple should tie the knot. Finally Dr. Michelle will give her opinion- either they are ready to walk down the aisle, or they should both just take a walk. This show is about conflict, communication and relationships. It delivers all the emotion of a Lifetime Movie, the relevance and information found in a talk show and the authoritative resolution of court in a whole new format. Wedlock or Deadlock entertains and teaches. It's all the things people want to see on daytime TV. |
