BBC AMERICA'S "DOCTOR WHO" CHRISTMAS SPECIAL TRAILER RELEASED TODAY
New York - December 9, 2016 - Today, BBC AMERICA released an all-new trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Return of Doctor Mysterio, revealing more of the Doctor's thrilling adventure this Christmas. The superhero-themed special premieres Sunday, December 25, 9/8c on BBC AMERICA.
The Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, teams up with an investigative journalist, played by Charity Wakefield (Wolf Hall, The Player) and a superhero to save New York from a deadly alien threat. Matt Lucas (Bridesmaids, Little Britain) returns to the series as Nardole and Justin Chatwin (Orphan Black, Shameless) joins the cast in a guest starring role as Grant.
The special is written by Steven Moffat, executive produced by Brian Minchin, produced by Peter Bennett and directed by Ed Bazalgette (Poldark). It was shot in Cardiff at BBC Wales Roath Lock Studios.
During the Doctor Who Takeover Marathon, airing in the days leading up to the Christmas Special premiere, BBCA will air all six episodes of the animated series Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks in color.
The new season of Doctor Who will premiere alongside the Doctor Who spin-off Class in Spring 2017 on BBC AMERICA.
