007'S ROAD TO A MILLION (Amazon, New!) - The streamer has commissioned an eight-episode series which will give "a Bond-style spin on a race around the world." EON Productions' Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson; 72 Films' David Glover; and MGM Television's Barry Poznick and Mark Burnett are behind the project, which is targeted to film later this year as casting is underway. As for specifics, the "show will see contestants competing in a global adventure to win a £1 million ($1.3 million) cash prize. Filmed in many of the historic locations featured throughout the seminal Bond films, the "cinematic format" will be a test of intelligence and endurance. In addition to passing physical obstacles, the contestants - who will compete in two-person teams - must correctly answer questions hidden in different locations around the world in order to advance to the next challenge." (Variety.com)
DANCE 100 (Netflix, New!) - Ally Love is set to host a new dance competition series at the streamer from Studio Lambert: "Using 100 of the world's best dancers - known as The Dance 100 - the eight contestants must create, choreograph, design and then perform in group dance numbers on an ever-growing and massive scale. The Dance 100 will then determine who goes home each week. And with every contestant that's eliminated, the number of dancers that the contestants must use grows bigger and therefore more challenging. In the end, the last two remaining contestants must choreograph a massive street dance performance featuring all 100 dancers." Tim Harcourt, Stephen Yemoh, Saul Fearnley, Stephen Lambert and Jack Burgess are the executive producers. Production begins next month in London. (Deadline.com)
FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE (FX on Hulu) - Ralph Adriel Johnson and Brian Miskell will both recur on the limited series. Johnson plays Logan and Miskell is Clay, "both fellows at the hospital and work with Toby (Jesse Eisenberg)." (Deadline.com)
FRIEND OF THE FAMILY, A (Peacock) - Hendrix Yancey has been cast as Jan Broberg in the early years on the upcoming limited series. Mckenna Grace plays said role in the later years. (Deadline.com)
GOLDBERGS, THE (ABC) - Wendi McLendon-Covey has closed a new deal to return for a potential 10th season of the series. The pact reportedly includes "a sizable bump and an option for a second year." (Deadline.com)
LAST KING OF THE CROSS (Paramount+, New!) - Ian McShane and Lincoln Younes are set to star in a new Australian series at the streamer: "Inspired by John Ibrahim's best-selling autobiography, Last King of The Cross is an operatic story of two brothers, Sam and John Ibrahim who organize the street but lose each other in their ascent to power. The drama tracks John Ibrahim's rise from a poverty-stricken immigrant with no education, no money, and no prospects, to Australia's most infamous nightclub mogul in Sydney's Kings Cross - a mini-Atlantic City, barely half a mile long with every form of criminality on offer." McShane will play Ezra Shipman with Younes as John Ibrahim. Writer/director Kieran Darcy-Smith is behind the project with Mark Fennessy and Karl Zwicky producing for Helium Pictures and Cineflix Rights (Deadline.com)
MIGHTY DUCKS, THE: GAME CHANGERS (Disney+) - Naveen Paddock, Margot Anderson-Song, Noah Baird, Stephnie Weir, Connor DeWolfe, Timm Sharp and Tiffany Denise Hobbs are all bound for the show's second season. Paddock will join the cast as Jace, "disaffected, rebellious - a cute stud with a bad-boy attitude"; with Anderson-Song recurring as Gertie, "an oddball, homeschooled girl from Alaska who has had very little contact with other kids, and people in general"; Baird as Fries, "the little brother of A.J. Lawrence (the self-centered hockey superstar of the camp)"; Weir as Marni, "Coach Cole's slightly overwhelmed and not-super-confident administrative assistant"; DeWolfe as A.J. Lawrence, "a god-like teen athlete whose main interest is himself"; Sharp as Toby, "the Coach of "Head Space" where the institute's teenage athletes go to work on the mental aspects of the sport"; and Hobbs as Jackie, "the incredibly jacked Strength and Conditioning Coach." (Deadline.com)
MOTHER & SON ESQ. & P.I. PILOT (CBS) - Rosa Arredondo and Tristen J. Winger have both landed roles on the drama pilot. Arredondo will play Francey, "Margaret's 'Girl Friday,' an efficient assistant who can make anything happen in any amount of time"; and Winger portrays Lyle, "very high maintenance, difficult and always by-the-book, he is one of two in-house licensed investigators working in Margaret's law firm." (Deadline.com)
RUST BELT NEWS (CBS) - Rich Sommer, Lauren Lindsey Donzis, Jayma Mays, Bentley Green, Angel Laketa Moore and Bailey Gavulic are the first to be cast in the comedy pilot, which has also added Jeffrey Blitz as director and executive producer. Sommer will play Caleb, "a jaded former journalist whose love of writing is reignited when he is recruited by Mack to help start an underground newspaper"; with Donzis as Mack, "an ambitious high school journalist who dreams of leaving small town Ohio to be a big-time reporter in New York"; Mays as Rachel, "a Mennonite mom, loving farm wife, city councilwoman and aspiring mayor, with a side job as Butterchurn Bae, the successful Instagram influencer"; Green as Lucas, "an artistic genius and high school Sophomore, who's forced to move from Manhattan to semi-rural Ohio when his mom decides to move home and run for mayor"; Moore as Wendy, "the unlikely first black mayor of a rust belt town"; and Gavulic as Kelsey, "Rachel's sarcastic teenage daughter who does her best to be the perfect Christian farm daughter at home, while sneaking out at night to meet boys, and hides a streak of purple hair under her bonnet." (Deadline.com)
TEEN WOLF FEATURE-LENGTH FILM (Paramount+) - Vince Mattis, Nobi Nakanishi and Amy Lin Workman have all been cast in the follow-up film, which will also see Ian Bohen return as Peter Hale and Khylin Rhambo as Mason Hewitt. Mattis will play Eli Hale, "Derek Hale's (Tyler Hoechlin) 15-year-old son"; with Lin Workman as Hikari Zhang; and Nakanishi as Deputy Ishida. No other specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
UNBROKEN (NBC) - Jacqueline Obradors, Jon Beavers and Ruth Righi have all booked roles on the drama pilot. Obradors will play Melanie Dominguez, "the perceived trophy wife of 80-year-old Emilio Dominguez"; with Beavers as Austin Epperling, "the older and more outgoing sibling of a trust-funded brother duo running a local cannabis operation"; and Righi as Skyler Gentry, "an independent, older-than-her-years young horsewoman who parents her mother as often as her mother parents her." (Deadline.com)
YOU (Netflix) - Charlotte Ritchie has been cast in the upcoming fourth season as Kate: "She's smart, independent, suspicious, misses nothing. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, a brick wall to everyone else. The daughter of a chaotic, bohemian single mother, Kate worked hard to create the life she now leads. She's an art gallery director whose job means managing tempestuous artists. Kate tends to be "the adult in the room," and has embraced the moniker of "icy bitch." She's especially protective of best friend Lady Phoebe, a sweet and trusting person whose extreme wealth and fame tend to attract opportunists. Kate prefers "arrangements" to love, which is why she dates fun but self-centered partier Malcolm. When Malcolm invites Joe (Badgley), an American outsider of no apparent means, into their privileged world, Kate not only immediately dislikes him, she strongly suspects something about the man is not what he seems."
